It’s appetite control, not will power
Great Will Power, No.
I have the help of my own biology, I’ve turned off the switch.
I used healthy fats like Butter to turn off my appetite, then I used that appetite control to practice intermittent fasting.
Fats and Fasting is my way, it’s how I lost my weight and it’s how I keep it off. I have no gain back a single pound of my weight loss.
When I posted my before and after pictures on my Facebook page, I got a comment that I often receive in private.
The comment is always meant as a compliment and I always take it as a compliment. But the belief expressed in this comment is THE key idea all my videos and article try to defeat.
The comment is some variation of “you have great will power“.
But what I teach people is the exact opposite. It’s not will power that will give you success on this way of eating. It is the appetite control that a Low Carb High Fat diet will give you, that enables your success.
In my video “Your Own Personal Diet Guru“, I say over and over and over again, to get the fat up in your meals and THEN listen to your body when it tells you that you are not hungry. Listen, by not eating when not hungry.
LC (Low Carb) + HF (High Fat) = the I.F. (intermittent fasting) cure
It is the combination of (LC) low carb stopping the insulin overproduction problem and the addition of the (HF) high fat to keep you satisfied longer between meals that allows the real solution to your insulin resistance problem and allows that real solution to be sustainable long term.
What is the real solution?
The real solution is Fasting, intermittent fasting (I.F.).
Most diets cause you to use “will power” to eat less, but this doesn’t work for long for most people. The LCHF diet turns off the “out of control hunger urges” that you’ve struggled with all your life and gives you control, gives you freedom without using “will power”.

LCHF is a healthy, sustainable, long term tool to provide your body with nature’s perfect fuel, fat.
Yes, I said fat is nature’s prefect fuel. It is the only fuel our body can store in unlimited quantities and for the long term maintenance of energy needs.
LCHF (Low Carb High Fat) is a way to accomplish the real solution, it is a tool, but fasting is the way to actually reverse the high insulin levels that cause fatty liver and insulin resistance.
LCHF is really an imitation of fasting, as I said in my “Butter Makes Your Pants Fall Off” video. If you are fasting, you are really just doing without carbohydrates, because even though you are not eating food by mouth, your body is actually still living off fat. If you were actually starving, your body would keep itself alive by using up to 85% of its energy needs from your stored fat reserves. But, it is impractical and unhealthy to actually starve long term.
Low Carb, High Fat is a healthy imitation of starving, because it also provides a high percentage of fat, like starving does, but none of the nutritional deficiencies, because we are eating adequate protein to maintain our lean muscle and organ tissues and enough fat in the meals we do eat, to keep us satisfied for a long, long time.
LCHF imitates starving or long term fasting, because people who are living off fat, like those starving, also have a biological reduction in appetite. No will power required. Fat naturally satisfies hunger much longer than a short term fuel like carbohydrates

I eat during an 8 hour window and fast 16 hours during sleep and skipping one meal. There are many ways to do it, no one right way, but it helps to prolong the good things that happen while sleeping by not eating right away.
Does your coffee count on the 8 hoursnof eatinf or the 16 hours of fasting?

Love your youtube videos! I was just wondering, I also use the bulletproof coffee to curve hunger, but have read that when you consume bulletproof coffee, you are not in a fasting state.
What exactly is your fasting regimen? Do you have the bulletproof coffee when you wake up or when you break your fast? I usually have my dinner around 8pm and wake up around 6am, have my bulletproof coffee around 8am and eat around 1 pm.
I find it difficult to fast or not eat without the butter and cream but I also want to make sure I am actually fasting.

In reading the link to Eat-Stop-Eat, the author says to only do IF two days a week and no more. Did I misread this or is there more to the story?
